When purchasing property in Pakistan, a seller may show you a naqsha, floor plan, site plan, or society layout plan. These plans show different things, so you should know what you are looking at.
Know which plan you are looking at
A society layout plan shows plots, roads, parks and commercial areas. A site plan shows one plot and its boundaries, while a floor plan shows the rooms inside a building.
What to check
- Plot or unit number matches your documents
- Orientation, road widths and access
- Approved status from the relevant authority
- Covered area versus the area you are paying for
Ask for the approved version of every plan and compare it with what is on the ground before you pay.
